The Law of the Gun

When two young men leave poverty in post Civil War Georgia for Texas and a job on a cattle drive, they were just trying to make some money and survive. Little did they know, that they would soon find adventure, danger, and themselves. The wide open West had a way of chewing up tenderfeet. Would Bill and Curtis be two more anonymous names in history, or would they make their mark and grow up along the way?

Jose: “Great Book”
“I really enjoyed this read. It was well paced and had good character development. The story and the way it read, reminded me of the old western novels about Hopalong Cassidy and the Bar 20 boys. Well done and I can’t wait to read more from this author.”

Revenge of the Gun

Bill and Curtis are now trying to make their fortune in Ogallala, Nebraska. Will they be able to tame this wild cow town and make their dreams come true or will a ghost from their past show up to stop them before they even get started? New conflict create danger in their peaceful lives, and no one is safe – not even the woman Bill loves the most.

Brian: “Outstanding Read”
Bill has delivered an amazing storyline, picking up where the last book ended. I found it hard to put down and finished it in two days. Looking forward to the next one!

Way of the Gun

Third in the Bill Terrell Western series. An Indian uprising on the Nebraskan plains has Bill, Curtis, and the Army busy protecting the settlers, but with cattle and homesteaders dead or missing, is there more than meets the eye?

Angela: “Great Addition to the Series”
Once again, author William Epps has produced another book in the series that continues the story with multiple twists and turns. His technique of bringing in past characters as well as new ones keeps you guessing on what will happen next.
I am looking forward to the next book!

Fire Flies at Night

Featured in June 2025 Issue of Field Ethos Magazine: “Damn, that was moving fast.” I heard the words over my radio headset as we cruised through the dark Iraqi night. “What?” I asked my gunner, Trevis. “Fucking firefly just buzzed by my head.” I thought nothing more about it, keeping my eyes out my MRAP window, on…

Bullets Don’t Lie

November 2023 “Frontier Tales” Story of the Month:     Henry Collins stared hard at the man standing twenty feet away whose hands were splayed over the big Colt that hung at his hip.  Somewhere a door slammed, but he barely heard it, as he concentrated on the burly, gunman who now faced him in the middle of…

The Final Ride

The tall man, shoved his Stetson to the back of his head and leaned against the corral fence to stare at the big, grey stallion across the clumpy ground.      The earthy smell of fresh manure wafted across the rodeo arena to the cowboy.  He hooked the heel of his hand-tooled leather boot over the bottom fence…
